The Clinton Brick Street
Players
Announces A Change In
The 2008 Season
Schedule!!
Dear Friends of
the Theatre,
The 35-plus
year-old air conditioner chiller at the Old Junior High Auditorium,
which the Brick Street Players has used now for twelve years, has
stopped cooling again, as it has done every summer. However this time, we are
told it is beyond repair.
The Clinton School District is not able to spend the money to
replace it, and after getting estimates of $40,000 and up for us to
replace it, we have made the decision to shift our season to
“school-year” instead of “calendar-year.” The remaining four
productions of the 2008/2009 season will be presented as
follows:
Catfish Moon – November 7-9 & 13-15,
2008
Smokey Joe’s Café – February 20-22 & 26-28,
2009
The Star Spangled Girl – March 27-29 & April 2-4,
2009
Arsenic and Old Lace – May 8-10 & 14-16,
2009
This will put
our productions in the cooler months, making it a bit more
comfortable, as temperatures have been known to reach 80 to 90
degrees inside the auditorium in the hot part of the summer. We are still working toward
getting our own home, hopefully in the not-to-distant future, so
please hang in there with us as we continue to bring you quality
community theatre. As always, remember to watch for the reminder
post cards before each play, and check our website for updates
throughout the year.
Thank you your
continued support,
Aubrey
